School Meals

We have our own kitchen offering a choice of well-balanced nutritional meals.

New Menu from Term 5 - 15th April 2024

Chartwells spring Menu 2024

At dinner times children sit in groups with a table captain to help to encourage table manners, co-operation and responsibility for one another.

School meals cost £2.45 each for children in Years 3-6. School meals are free for children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.  Money for school meals should be paid online through the ‘School Gateway’. Alternatively cash or cheques may be paid to the school office during office hours. If a child has paid for a meal and is then absent the appropriate amount will be credited against the following week.  No cash refunds will be made until the end of term.

If you prefer you may provide a packed lunch for your child. Packed lunches should contain a balanced meal and brought in a suitable container, which should be labelled with the child’s name. No glass bottles or containers of any kind and no fizzy drinks please.

Free School Meals

We encourage all eligible parents to apply for free school meals, even if they don’t choose to eat the meals. This is because by registering the school receives significant funding for your pupils, in addition to the free meals.

You are eligible for free school meals if your family receives:
Income Support;
Jobseeker’s Allowance (income based)
Child Tax Credit
Support under the Immigration and Asylum Act

Please enquire at the school office for further information and support in claiming free school meals, or use the link below to find out more and to download an application form: Apply for Free School Meals
