Charges

The Governing Body reserves the right to make a charge in the following circumstances for activities organised by the school:

  • The full cost of all board and lodgings required on residential visits
  • The full cost to each pupil of activities deemed to be optional extras, taking place out of school hours
  • The cost of material or ingredients, if the parents have indicated that they wish to own the finished product.

The Governing Body may, from time to time, amend the categories of activity, for which a charge may be made.

Voluntary Contributions
Nothing in this Policy Statement precludes the Governing Body from inviting parents to make a voluntary contribution towards the cost of providing an educational activity for children.

The Governing Body invites parents to apply, in confidence to the Head Teacher, for remission of charges if there is financial hardship in the family that makes it difficult for their children to take part in a particular activity.

Efforts will be made to remit recoverable charges/contributions should a child be unavoidably absent from the activity.

The Head Teacher in consultation with the Chairman of Governors will make authorisation of remission.
